LAYING THE FOUNDATION FOR AN AI-ENABLED, DATA-DRIVEN FMCG ORGANISATION

FY 2026 marked a significant milestone in our digital transformation journey as we accelerated the shift towards a modern, data driven and AI enabled operating model. We are looking to leverage Tata Consumer Products’ and our rich consumer data enabling the convergence of human judgement and machine intelligence.

As we pivoted towards becoming a ‘Cognitive Enterprise’, digital capabilities were systematically embedded across every value stream. This integrated approach unlocked sharper insights, greater agility, and sustainable, tech-driven growth across the organisation.

OPERATIONALISING AI INTO FRONTLINE EXECUTION AND OPERATIONS

We are in the process of rolling out Integrated Business Planning, which would enable unified decision making across procurement, manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution, driving improvements in service levels, inventory optimisation, and end-to-end responsiveness.

Route optimisation reduced average field travel distance by 30%, while embedded AI within the Sales Force Automation (SFA) platform influenced 41% of orders, contributing to meaningful delta in monthly sales. Retailer engagement was strengthened through enhanced transparency on schemes, orders and payments via the ‘Retailer App’.

Digital transformation delivered a more agile and cost-efficient supply chain this year.

Our digital transformation is redefining the product lifecycle. By leveraging Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and AI- enabled formulation tools, we have significantly accelerated speed-to- market while maintaining rigorous regulatory compliance.

Central to this is our AI Genie initiative, which converts macro trends into validated innovation concepts, allowing our teams to pivot resources towards the highest- potential opportunities with data- driven precision.

Integrated with enterprise data and demand indicators, these capabilities are building a more responsive, insight led innovation engine.

DIGITAL FOUNDATION, FUTURE-READY CAPABILITIES

We modernised our core enterprise platforms to ensure scalability, stability and regulatory compliance. This enabled the seamless, nationwide rollout of GST 2.0 without operational downtime. To empower our workforce, we introduced Zara, an AI-powered enterprise assistant that simplifies information access. This is supported by our newly launched AI Academy, established in partnership with global partners to institutionalise AI literacy and foster a culture of co-creation through hands- on hackathons and specialised learning paths.

UNIFIED DEMAND INTELLIGENCE AND PERSONALISED MARKETING

We synchronised our demand- sensing and revenue growth management tools by integrating near-real-time data across the omni- channel ecosystem - from Modern Trade to Quick Commerce. This unified framework enables high- precision forecasting and optimised price-pack strategies, ensuring superior in-market execution.

Simultaneously, we are reimagining marketing through hyper- personalised engagement; by combining GenAI-assisted content with complex datasets, we deliver hyper-local consumer experiences within a rigorous framework of privacy and brand governance.

We identified five Health & Wellness platforms-Gut Health, Metabolic Health, Iron Fortification, Protein, and Sugar reduction-to guide our innovation agenda. We have made strong progress in translating these focus areas into market-ready products that deliver meaningful consumer benefits.

At the same time, we are identifying future platforms and are building a robust roadmap that spans portfolio, claims substantiation and focused research programmes.
