Tata Starbucks arrived in India in October 2012, as a joint venture between Starbucks Coffee Company and Tata Consumer Products Limited. Since then, the brand has grown from strength to strength.

Over the years, it has led the Indian coffee industry in pioneering a premium coffeehouse experience while setting new benchmarks in being socially responsible, strengthening communities and being one of the most loved coffee brands in India. Tata Starbucks also leads with innovation in store formats with the launch of its first drive-thru store in India at Zirakpur, Chandigarh in July 2020. Through coffee forward initiatives, Tata Starbucks continues to deliver an elevated third place experience to their customers. With a heavy focus on driving innovation, they are always striving towards customising the perfect cup of coffee and personalising the overall customer experience.

Tata Starbucks announced Gender Pay Equity in late 2019 and opened two all-women Starbucks stores in 2020. It has been voted amongst one of the best places for women to work consistently for the second consecutive year in 2020.
