Mr. Rishi Gautam

Rishi Gautam is the Global General Counsel and in-charge of the legal function for Tata Consumer Products and its worldwide operations. He is based in Mumbai and is a member of the Executive Committee of the company. 

He is a dual-qualified lawyer (India and England & Wales) with over 24 years of experience spanning top-tier international and Indian law firms.  Rishi brings extensive international legal experience, having practiced at global law firms Clifford Chance LLP (London) and Herbert Smith Freehills (Sydney) and as a partner with leading Indian law firms (Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and AZB & Partners).

As the Global General Counsel, Rishi is responsible for legal affairs and strategy, including operational legal matters, restructuring, reorganisation, acquisitions and joint ventures with the General Counsels for India, EMEA, and North America reporting directly to him. His responsibility spans the full spectrum of general counsel responsibilities: board advisory, high-stakes litigation and dispute resolution, regulatory engagement and policy advocacy, corporate governance, data privacy, ethics, and cross-border legal risk management. As a Member of the Executive Committee — Rishi contributes directly to corporate strategy, risk governance, and enterprise-wide decision-making.

He also serves as a Director on the boards of TRIL Constructions Limited and Tata Consumer Products Australia.

Rishi is individually profiled in the Chambers Asia-Pacific directory and named a Recommended Individual on the Legal 500 GC Powerlist: India 2025.

Rishi holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law (BA LLB) (Hons.) degree from National Law School of India University with a Gold Medal (Constitutional Law). He is an awardee of the National Talent Search Scholarship by the Government of India.
